Phil & Marina Trevarton were both guests at the CRFU AGM held this week at Camborne RFC.

Chairman Steve Murley thanked them and Trelawny’s Army for their financial assistance along with that from the CRFU given to our Under 20’s in connection with attending the South West trials. He also praised the Army for it’s ongoing support to the game in Cornwall and of course on the sidelines at our county games.

Three of the lads, Dan Bennett, Ayden Earnshaw & Rhys Bowery have been selected to play for the South West in their divisonal matches.

Congratulations to all three.

It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Hugh Penna on the 13th November. Hugh was a fervent Cornwall and Launceston rugby supporter. He and his late wife Pearl were longstanding members of Trelawny’s Army and both served on the Committee for many years. Hugh himself was elected as a Life-Member for services to the Club and will be sadly missed.

Hugh’s funeral will take place at Penmount Crematorium in the Kernow Chapel on the 11th December at 11.30.

TRELAWNY’S ARMY NEEDS YOU!!

An exciting opportunity for a Voluntary Rugby enthusiast -individual or job share who would like to join the Trelawny’s Army as ‘Honorary Secretary/s’

If you’d like to be part of the happy band of ‘Volunteers’ who keep Trelawny’s Army marching forward, here’s how;

• Firstly be or become a Member of Trelawny’s Army Supporters Club.

• To attend approximately five Committee Meetings each year and maintain minutes of meetings.

• Perform basic computer skills, all help provided.

• Liaise with Cornwall Rugby Football Union [CRFU].

• Present some Match Balls, etc.

• Represent Trelawny’s Army via local BBC radio and newspapers interviews.

• Coordinate County matches/social dates diary for Trelawny’s Army

• Coordinate votes for Player of the Year Awards and Trophies for yearly Annual General Meeting presentations.

• Submit an ‘Update/write up’ for quarterly Black & Gold Newsletter

• Role has potential for any true Cornwall County Championship Rugby enthusiast and all enquiries warmly welcomed.
