Pirates crash out of B & I Cup, but London Cornish clinch title

There was huge disappointment for the Cornish Pirates on Friday night when they lost their quarter-final tie in this season’s British & Irish Cup to Jersey Reds at rue des Landes 36-20.

A late flurry from the visitors when they scored a couple of tries saved some blushes on a night to forget.

There was no St. Piran’s Day win for the Cornish Pirates in their Greene King Championship fixture against Jersey Reds on Sunday at a windswept Mennaye.

Cornish Pirates maintain play-off challenge

Nicolas De Battista’s try scored in the dying moments of the game gave the Pirates a bonus point win 34-5 against Rotherham Titans. The win sees the Cornish side leap-frog Jersey in the championship table back into fifth place.
