Life on the road suits the Pirates

The Cornish Pirates made it two wins away from fortress Mennaye in their Championship game at Nottingham on Sunday, in an impressive 35-19 bonus point win.

Stuart Townsend, Dan Lee, Tom Duncan and Alex O’Meara crossed for the Pirates’ four tries with Will Cargill and Laurence May adding the rest of the points with the boot.

Gerard (Mac) McMahon – R.I.P.

It was with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of “Mac” on the 3rd September.

He was not only a committed member of TASC, travelling on the coaches to Cornwall’s away games, but also served for a number of years on our committee.

He was always a regular at Redruth and loved his rugby.

Pirates settle for draw under the Mennaye sun

A very busy weekend for me covering both the Redruth and Cornish Pirates’ games for the local press, both were excellent games although the more satisfying from a spectator’s point of view will have been the 31 all draw between the Pirates and Ealing on Sunday.
