CORNWALL WREST BACK TAMAR CUP

CORNWALL won the Tamar Cup for the first time in four years with a comfortable victory over old rivals Devon at Launceston last night.

DOUBLE OVER TITANS PUTS PIRATES ON COURSE

THE CORNISH PIRATES followed up their win at the Mennaye over Rotherham Titans with a 17-14 win over the same opponents at Clifton Lane on Saturday.

A result which keeps them handily placed for the RFU Championship semi-finals. Flanker Phil Burgess scored the Pirates’ try with full back Rob Cook slotting four penalties.

CHAMPIONSHIP RE-JIG WELCOMED

So it looks like the format of the RFU Championship is set to change next season following agreement of the clubs.

The play-off’s for relegation are set to be scrapped with the bottom club at the end of the regular season set for the drop to National League 1.
