This policy explains how Trelawny’s Army (TASC), the Cornish Rugby Supporters Club, (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects information when you visit trelawnysarmy.org, and how we use cookies on the site.

Who we are

Trelawny’s Army is a volunteer-run supporters club for Cornish rugby. If you have any questions about this policy or how your information is handled, please contact webmaster@trelawnysarmy.org.

Information we collect

Blog comments: if you leave a comment on the site, we store the name, email address and (for spam-prevention purposes) IP address you provide, in line with standard WordPress practice. Comments are checked for spam using Akismet.
Site accounts: contributors, authors and administrators who log in to help run the site have an account containing a name, email address and, optionally, a profile photo.
Contact forms: if you get in touch via a form on the site, we use the details you provide (such as your name and email address) only to respond to your enquiry.
Usage data: like most websites, we automatically collect some technical information about your visit (such as pages viewed and general location) via the analytics and security tools described below.

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We use them to run the site properly, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. Our cookie banner is provided by Complianz: scripts in each category below only run once you’ve given consent for that category. When you first visit, you can choose which categories to allow, or change your choice at any time using the button below.

VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE (6 months) – set by YouTube on embedded videos to help serve the right player interface.

Statistics

These help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. We use Google Analytics 4, connected via Site Kit by Google, and Jetpack Stats. Neither loads unless you accept this category.

_ga, _ga_* (about 13 months) – Google Analytics cookies used to distinguish visitors and report on site usage.
tk_ai, tk_qs, tk_or, tk_lr (varies) – Jetpack Stats cookies used to measure site usage.

Marketing

Set by third-party services embedded on the site, which only load if you accept this category. We do not run our own advertising or ad-tracking.

Facebook – our embedded Facebook feed, which uses Facebook’s own SDK.
Google Maps – for location maps.

Some pages include content or tools provided by other organisations, which may set their own cookies or process data under their own privacy policies:

YouTube and X – we link to our channel and account from the menu and social icons; these are outbound links only, we do not embed video or feeds from them, so visiting our site does not set any YouTube or X cookies.
Jetpack (Automattic) – site statistics, security and social sharing features.
Google reCAPTCHA – helps protect our forms from spam and abuse.
Wordfence – helps protect the site from malicious activity.
Akismet – filters spam from blog comments.
