TRELAWNY’S ARMY PRESENTATION DAYS 2008

Trelawny’s Army Supporters Club held its annual presentation day on Saturday March 1st, with Tribute Cornwall League 1 clubs being this season’s beneficiaries, following on from last season’s presentation to Tribute Cornwall League 2 clubs.

Army members were present at all four matches played. A further presentation was made on Saturday March 8th to both Illogan Park and Camborne School of Mines, both of whom were relegated from Cornwall 1 last season, and also to Liskeard & Looe, who had no match on the 1st.

At the Stithians vs. Peranporth game committee members Bill Hooper and John Rowe made the presentations to both clubs prior to the kick-off, before witnessing a fine 50-19 win by the home side in a game played in fine weather on an excellent playing surface.

Commentating after the match, Bill Hooper observed “The game was a great advert for rugby at this level, both sides looking to run the ball and keep it available. It’s heartening to see the fine work at a village club like Stithians. We were delighted by the appreciation shown today for the presentation by both the Stithians and Perranporth clubs. We hope that we have helped the clubs in a small way, also to highlight the fine work they are all doing at this level. Thanks also to Mike Bratt, Cornwall’s Rugby Development Officer, for his help in arranging the kit on our behalf.”

At the St Austell vs. Saltash game, the Army presented four match balls to each team.
