TRELAWNY'S ARMY ANNUAL DINNER & DANCE 2011

The 18th Annual Dinner-Dance of the Trelawny's Army Supporters' Cub was held at the Ponsmere Hotel, Perranporth, on Saturday 26th February. Opening remarks by Chairman Phil Trevarton and Secretary Ian Gordon were a prelude to almost 60 members enjoying a celebration dinner, before singing led by the Perraners was followed by dancing until the early hours!

Honorary guests included Alan Mitchell, Ewart White and Guest Speaker Phil Angove, who delighted Army Members with an illuminating and entertaining talk illustrated by a short film of the memorable 1999 Final at Twickenham, when he coached Cornwall to their last winning of the County Championship under the captaincy of Dean Shipton.

A minute's silence was observed in remembrance of 3 long-serving members who died in the last 12 months - Paul Bawden, Tom Prout and Barry Latus, all sadly missed.

A thoroughly agreeable evening was enjoyed by one and all, with friendships made and renewed, and the coming season's County Championships matches -- commencing in May -- being enthusiastically anticipated.

Well, what a great night!

Last Saturday’s Annual Dinner at the Ponsmeere was once again a great success. The venue delivered a memorable evening, thanks to Carole Seymore’s organisation. Sixty members and guests attended and guest speaker Phil Angove enthralled those present with clips of the 1999 final.

But I just want to say THANK YOU to all of you that took part and participated with your friendship and generosity.

See you all again next year.

Remember our motto: FETHY PO FYLIEL, AN GWARRY HA TRA NAHEN

Win or lose, The Game and Nothing Else.

Phil Trevarton, Chairman Trelawny’s Army
